For thousands of years traditional Chinese medicine has described people as being part of a whole with a cosmic and energetic effect. The human being within, is the reflection of a harmonizing effect between the cosmos and the earth, Yin and Yang. Basically, traditional Chinese medicine sees every person as an >Expression of Energy<. The human being with his/her understanding and state of mind submit to the pressures of the flow of energy streams in the own body. The traditional Chinese medicine terms the powerful substance of energy that flows through every inch of our bodies as >Qi<. Traditional Chinese medicine sees the human body as a reflection of the cosmos and therefore sees a connection between the two. Contrary to acupuncture and acupressure, Fan Teng Gong does not press the acupuncture points nor does it pierce needles into them; Fan Teng Gong uses energy on them instead by sending the focus of our attention through our hands via rays of energy onto the acupuncture points. Whilst western medicine tends to treat only the symptoms of an illness, the traditional Chinese medicine goes to the root of the problem and treats the actual causes of the illness. The Fan Teng Gong exercises are so designed that they create a deep inner warmth in the pit of your belly which makes the >Water of the Kidneys< rise up along your vertibrae in the form of >Steam<. Because of this, the energy in the upper body are utilised allowing the rising steam to cool off to the point where it can drip back down, this time along the front central meridian in the form of water. What this is, is in actual fact a natural cycle that is already there in your body – only that most of the time it doesn´t function and when this cycle malfunctions it causes illnesses. Fan Teng Gong opens the front and back central meridian as well as all of the other meridians.

When the meridian system functions ideally, which these exercises lead to step by step, its effect is much more intense than the best acupuncture treatment.

It positively influences all of the internal organs. Your feeling towards life becomes positive. The Chinese masters call this < The Return of the Spring >. Qi is nothing else but the astute wisdom of life. Qi Gong teaches you to decide for yourself how you feel and how to change the situation you are in, whenever you wish. Our normal behaviour and our consciousness are things we have inherited from the outside and they separate us from our natural selves and our original consciousness. This feeling of isolation (consciously or subconsciously) is the cause of many problems such as illnesses, fears, depressions, addictions (pleasure-seeking for example), promiscuity, meanness, jealousy, insensitivity, coldness etc… In order to keep in touch with reality we need to focus on the immediate moment. Every painting is produced on a white screen and Qi Gong reveals our natural and original white screen that is within us from nature. Once we know where we belong we no longer feel homeless; we experience the feeling of belonging instead and this strengthens and also heals us. That means that with the combination of conscious will-power and practising the exercises is what you need in order to reach your original nature which gives you a sense of purpose and freedom. When Buddhism was introduced from India to China it integrated with Taoism and therefore Chan and Zen Buddhism were created. The key to Zen is not a belief or a dogma but always the experience you get from the exercises; an absolute simplicity in which everything is included. The concepts of Qi Gong and traditional Chinese medicine are very different to the western medicine that we know, whereby Zen has very interesting similarities to the mystic sides of christianity. The traditional Chinese medicine is based upon the teachings of Yin and Yang, the teachings of the 5 elements, the teachings of the meridians and acupuncture, as well as the wisdom of Taoism and Zen Buddhism.
